HONORABLE TAXWORK
By: Angel Y. Dayan, EA, ABA, ATA, CPA- (213)-365-1040 taxwork.com

I find this occasion fitting to thank those of you who have trusted me and relied upon my taxwork for many years. For some of you, we have already become friends. Every year, you have always come with copies of your Form-W2 wage/salary statement, Form-1099 compensation income, interest income, mortgage interest statements, real estate taxes, stock trade broker’s statements, business financial information, to name only a few basic tax requirements (your tax checklist is on our website). Taxes is a complex matter that makes accountants like myself specialize on. Unfortunately, many taxpayers who have allowed taxes to take its own course have taken it lightly. The results are penalties. I find that those who do this work themselves on their own without professional help always pay more taxes. People need to realize that. The laws are changing every year. I have the responsibility to keep up with the changes in the law for you and its enforcement procedures that have now become even more complex from when we all first started. As a client, your basic personal tax information is already in our computer files, which data simply transfers to the new tax forms. Truly, I have become your valued consultant, a trusted advisor, and confidant. You are not purchasing “processed tax forms” but professional service. Some intricate thought processes went with it in its outcome that is of significant value to your resources. Every year, I trust that you will come prepared for your personal tax interview. Along with it, as it applies to you, will be your business tax interview. The better organized you are, the better I will be able to serve you. If you will come disorganized, my thought processes to assist you will be inefficient. Those of you who understand this and appreciate or respect and value my taxwork, you are my good clients who will do well in life and in business with me on your side. I cannot be more thankful for your trust. There may be times when you might find yourself tempted to compromise with the tax law and you will hear me instructing. It will be wrong and the potential consequences are costly. I would be the first one to prevent you to move wayward in order to avoid its bad consequences. Tax preparers and taxpayers alike are penalized higher now for unacceptable infractions in the law. The new penalties are surrounded by complex factors that are still being sorted out for its implications. The procedures to impose and collect these penalties have already been set in place. Therefore, we need to exercise wise discretions for your best interest through collaborative efforts. To do otherwise would lead you to the wrong road with the loss of your precious resources. As we contemplate, we should both avoid these risks and do right if we both want our peace of mind. The dreaded audit is always lurking some three (3) years ahead to the future. It is something to be avoided. I have to tell you that my tax practice is held up to a higher level of practice responsibility standards. True because of the higher-level licenses I possess in the profession (see below). I am always thankful to clients who understand me on these terms. Your concerns are very important to me. I do care for you as you trust me with my work and give me your full, continued confidence. My professional judgment and discretion on your behalf fulfill the letters of the tax law and procedures that I am expected to uphold. As we are able, then you will be safe and will get the assurance that if questions arise on your return, we both would be able to defend it ourselves. The tax position you may take in the new law should meet the “more likely than not” standard, i.e., 51% or more likely that it could be sustained on its merits. Finally, it is most important to be respected for ones work, and for honorable taxwork, the meaning of which transcends beyond the sum of money we do pay for taxes and fees. Paying taxes is a sacred duty ordained by the wisest and blessed of all men. I work everyday for long hours, at times even Saturdays. And I am not too far away, if we consider all the means of communication available in our midst. Please visit my website at www.taxwork.com or send me an email at angel@taxwork.com. My phone number is not difficult to remember, it is 365 days 1040, in the area code 213 or call me at (213)-365-1040. I hope to see you again soon.
